Skill bars for pets
Animal pets do not do much damage as it is in pvp or pve when you trying to kill stuff. Animals should be able to have their owner buy them skills to improve them from skill points they would gain from leveling...btw I mean there own seperate skill bar

The relevant attribute line is known as 'Beast Mastery' and it contains a number of skills for your pet. As for having a separate skill bar, no, that would be silly imba.

Evidently you don't know how to play a pet properly if you complain they don't do a lot of damage in either PvP or PvE. But to not have to sacrifice your own skill bar to make a pet even stronger would make pets very over-powered, so no,
/notsigned.

No thank you.

It would however be nice and still balanced to have hero's who were animals.
So there could be a black moa or bear wolf reef lurker etc that was a hero and took up a party slot.
Then they could have a skillbar of their own.
Heroes for all species I say.

Rangers are generaly imba already.
but i have always wanted a pet skill bar. never seemed to make sense having pet skills on yourself. Still there commands i suppose..
Anyway im gonna say /signed simply because i always wanted it. would be a ton of fun and make pets less ignoreable.
however you would have to make pet heals/rezez rarer and not be able to have the pet to be able to rez/heal himself or at least to do strongly.
heal of one nurf would be forcoming.... but meh! i want a excuse to use pets more

Beast mastery is the skill bar for them if the pets have a skill bar with the rangers having a skill bar would make it rangers overpowered

Ranger pets are not another team member, they are the Rangers weapon. If you use a bow, you take skills to use with it, right? Same with a pet, if you use the pet, and want it to do damage, you take skills for it. Giving a pet and the Ranger using it both thier own skill bar allow you to have twice the damage potential as anyone else. You'd see all PvP turn into R/x and x/R so people could have pets along.
/unsigned because balance was never considered

/signed only if my necro's minions get their own skill bar lol
but seriously, /notsigned because this would be stupidly overpowered.

Good thoughts, but too simple. Hench get at least 4 skills even in the newbie areas, so a pet/minion should get at least 4 as well.
Golem = Earthshaker+Crushing+Flail+Body Blow
Horror = Triple Chop+Dismember+Twist+Disrupting
Fiend = Glass Arrows+Dual+Forked+Lightning Reflexes
Vamp = Life Transfer+Mark of Subversion+Strip Enchant+Vamp Touch
Shambling = Crippling+Gash+Bull's+Enraging
Minion = Contagion+Death Nova+Vile Touch+Dark Aura
Yes, I see this as being well balanced and a good plan for Anet to use. (yes, that was sarcasm)

When pets were created for the rangers there was nothing else to compare it with now you can have a summoning stone.
Ok its only there for 30 minutes at a time but has its own skills etc so in theory you could have animal versions of summoning stones.
Instead of a grench you get a melandru stalker with skills and the usual limitations on summoning sickness and the 30 minute or till death duration.
So unsigned for the op idea tempting though it is.
but hero or summoning stone versions would be fine in my book.

But only with pet-only skills. I don't want to see a bear using Searing Flames. (Well, actually I do, but that would not make sense)

Not a seperate skill bar but
same as it is now, but when the players die, beast mastery skills that involve only the pet (ie: run as one will not be able to use like when the pet dies we can't use certain skills) should still be usable if the pet is still alive.
